Prayer answered

Ok, I called Mrs. Norton this morning and she wanted to talk to me about volunteering in the classroom. I told the boys to ask their teachers if I can come in on Wednesday. Turns out, you have to make an appointment with the principal to be in the class rooms. I did that. The bad part? I am only allowed to visit on occasion.... Not every week like I wanted. Right now, I feel they are crazy to not allow parents in on a regular basis. Maybe they are right, it will be a distraction. Or they may call me and say your kids really want you here and they change their position. In the mean time, I can have lunch with them every day if I want, and so I will every Wednesday. What fun we will have during lunch breaks! I will continue to be praying for their teachers, that they learn Mark and Zachery's personalities, ways, and how they handle life.

hhhmmmm.....

It's Monday, day 11 of the school year. I got a call today from Mrs. Norton. Guess who Mrs. Norton is? The one, the only, fab principle of Nash Elementary School. I wonder why she is calling me?? I called her back at 4:30 but she was gone for the day. I will try her in the morning. I'm praying she is calling to tell me how wonderful my children have been. :-) Will you join me in this prayer?? Thank you!

Difference #2

Can you tell how big this little hill is by comparing it to the lamp post? Do you see how close this is on the walk ways from where I park? I was scared........
We don't have these in Cali.... FOR SURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It came alive and attacked me! I was able to fight them off, I survived, and got some good footage! LOL. Good thing I dont have to share royalties cause there are too many parties involved to share with.

Difference #1

I am starting a series of posts called "Differences." This will highlight some of the differences between Texas and California.

After a storm this is what Texas rush hour traffic looks like. Traffic in California would not be moving at all.

Texas is growing on us!

Vacancy

We now have vacancy if someone needs to visit. Our family left for home this afternoon around 2. There was a few hour span of no rain in the forecast so they figured it best to try and make the drive home. We have not heard from them yet so we are praying they make it safely. In the mean time it has been raining raining and raining non stop. It is so nice! The weather is warm, so no need to start the fire place. Everyone is saying we should have two more days of this.

The rains are coming the rains are coming.......

Gustav has hit and we are starting to get the outer rain bands. I finished mowing the back yard this morning so it could soak it all up. Today has been pretty laid back. This morning we had breakfast, and then the cookie baking started... The best part? I have not cooked a thing since Angela got here!! She has done all the cooking for us, and it is delicious. Right now Ceco is out BBQing chicken and sausage links in the rain, playing southern Lousiana music. The kind of music we enjoy when we eat at Lucille's. He told Mark he is leaving the BBQ for us to keep since we don't have one. I will post some video later of the storm when it starts hitting us harder. The forcast shows we may get between 12-20" of rain over the next couple of days. Lets see how the brand new roof holds up to the wind and rain.
