So when we moved in here we had a few friends. I figured that they would go away. I was wrong. So Mark being the wonderful husband he is, bombed the whole house and then sprayed the WHOLE outside perimeter and the ENTIRE inside of the house. Do you think that helped?? NOOONNNOOO it has not. Marcus says, "Mom, its OK, I can use them as bait for fishing!" Who can guess what I said next?? I said, "Great! They are free, and I can save some money on buying bait." Now even though I HATE the bugs and can not get rid of them, I am embracing the idea that Marcus is now in charge of bug capturing and I am saving money. Hopefully he does not get to save too many of them. YUK For now he is putting them in a baggie and freezing them. I have to remember that God blessed me with BOYS to raise and bug capturing is part of it. BTW: I was very embarrassed to share this issue with the world but then I saw that Heather in Georgia has the same problem and blames it on the south, so I know it has nothing to do with my cleanliness!! Can someone please confirm that this is a usual thing in the south?? Mark says we just sprayed and so they are running but that they will start to lessen and lesson as they die. Did I say YUK!

I think they are called waterbugs, Ang. When I was a little girl growing up in Ohio we had them in our house. I think they come in for dryness. It has been raining right? The spraying will help for now, but once it rains - they'll be back. There is a sticky paper grandpaw use to use - sorta like catching a mouse. Also traps like for roaches, I think you can buy. You always get little critters when you live "in the country." But smile...it could be worse. Watch out for the snakes! and I believe you live where there are wild bores -havalinas. I think they're called. Check with your local pest control and they can educate you on all the different visitors you may need to deal with. Poisionous spiders you really all need to know about. The the babjo back spider lives there as well as the brown and/or white reclous. Give them a call and tell them you are new to the area. They will help! Good luck Sweetie... I love Markus's idea of catching them. LOL That is way funny. I thought I would fall off the sofa reading your entry. Tell him to let me know if they catch him any fish!

Angie- your momma is right. They are roaches, but not the dirty kind and the kind you don't want. You won't ever get rid of those! Its def. a southern thing and if you lived in Hawaii it would be a Hawaii thing. Welcome to humidity. Just keep the boys on bug trapping!
Sounds like lil Marcus is adjusting well down there.... I miss him SO MUCH!
wow that is crazy!! i would probably scream if I saw one of those lol. good thing for boys huh!?? I have a hard time with the tiny bugs out here!
Wow, how ingenious of Marcus to capture and freeze (????) the yittle buggies to use for bait to save money. I was very impressed how he is preserving them so the fish will believe they are fresh. Okay, I am going to go throw up now. Seriously.
